I'm kinda done with the server.

I played for nearly 11 months, and recently I stopped because of
    A) the new map and reset
    B) high staff's lack of paying attention and our ideas (I see a reply from a mod+ every 10 threads, and that's only if they're good ideas)
    C) lack of updates and organization

The new map was big, and I looked around, but it's just too big. There's too many places to hide and camp, and it's even more of just walking into an intersection and getting your *** kicked. I won't mention how obnoxious it is now to get to Atlanta from berx, because that would be another five pages of rant. Do not get this wrong- IT WAS A GOOD MAP. But in my opinion, bigger wasn't better.

    High staff doesn't really care about most of our opinions. Before I see staff telling me about how wrong I am (and they're going to be ignored) let me explain;

When's the last time you've asked high staff a question and they've answered (through forums). If you said never, you're the majority. Most of the time major ideas are proposed (many of which are well thought out) and the only people that pay attention are helpers.

    "b-but high staff have lives!2!1!11"
It takes a half an hour to scan through and show some apprieciation. I didn't spend $76 for this, even if it is 'donating'.

Lack of updates is my largest issue. Take the most recent, the new map.

Did we really once hear from an owner when the map would come out?

    Nope.

Staff usually said something like "sometime near Christmas lol"

That's really definitive. I don't want a crappy estimate, I want a date. That's like asking a military general when they plan on sending a new attack and they reply "I dunno, probably soon".

    When the hell is soon?!

    I'm just done with this.

The game was fun but the own high staff's unreliability has made many people including myself stop playing.

I do agree with you on some things but you may not understand that not all staff do the same thing, the higher staff have more responsibilities. which means they have more things to do like player reports, ban appeals, tickets and etc. Owners do not have to tell you anything and honestly I think HavocMC owners actually interact with their players a lot more than other big owners of bigger servers, the owners on there are just for the money and rarely ever show their faces at all, they let their staff handle the server for them while they just rake in the cash and pay the bills. I'll agree that some staff are inactive but I also do see higher staff on forums and helping as well but the two I see the most are @Katitude and @Introversions. Now with the map, yes it is way too big and barely anyone steps foot in Atlanta to fight because no one wants to run 5000 blocks just to have one war... we get it people like the survival aspect of the server but I still don't think it's right to have a map so large.

i agree with practically everything, and yes, staff never do sh!t on forums. a staff will probably reply to this thread with some rant, but we can all agree to sprinkle some salt on them.

I don't know what else do players expect from us.

Personally, i tried to work hard and do my job as staff members, even thought i do admit that i might reply slow when 5 people are messaging me at the same time. I don't want to address this, but i tried my best to satisfy every single player. I go online 5-6 hours per day during the weekends, which actually made me have to stay up till 4 am in the morning to finish my own school work from "our own lives". I don't want to be a crying and spoiled girl who does nothing but complain, but i have to point out that I'm currently sick and can't even talk cause i lost my voice, otherwise i would be going on teamspeak or discord right now and answer every single question people asked.

Therefore, Instead of rage quitting the server, tell me what you guys want us to do. Write it down, post it here, or make a google doc and write essays.

Yeah. Tell us everything, forum, Skype, teamspeak or discord, choose whatever way you want. Tell us your opinions, how you think we should do our jobs and in what way should we improve it to make your life better. Just tell us. It actually make every body's life easier.

Hope y'all have a great night.

HyperScrub, I'm dearly sorry if you feel this way, but I have a few words to say. I usually post a long rant in depth, though in regards to how my messages are displayed, some individuals can't get the gist of my point, or don't bother to read a paragraph and assume we're "being salty". I have a quote, and hopefully it will help: "Complaining about a problem without offering a solution is called whining" ~Teddy Roosevelt. If you are unhappy with how our server and system works, you are fully capable of offering a solution, or respectfully bringing up your concerns with a solution or ideas at hand to create a better experience for you and the community as it stands.
    A. The new map and reset was an incredible pound of stress, effort, and hours of work, however I am listening to your concerns. The map is large, and that can be an issue; you are free to make suggestions on how this can be fixed and staff can brainstorm ways as well.
    B. Staff does pay attention; this, I can justify by witnessing the continuous support given by staff members. To be personal, I respond to any thread that must be addressed, every thread. I am always here for you all if there are any questions or concerns you may have, and I state that in pretty much every long/detailed message I send on this network; I address the fact that I will help you in game as well. If you'd like me to assess your ideas, I will. If you believe higher staff should discuss and consider your idea, validate that and give evidence, or a brief explanation on how it will benefit the community, be of use, etc. (Small ideas that doesn't have a large importance to it is also considered, it doesn't have to be a large idea with numerous points if only a small idea) The staff will help you when you respectfully face us with your questions and we are free. If we are busy in game, please message us privately on the forums as multiple players constantly have concerns that I will discuss and aid them with. Please note that we are here for a reason, to help you all and allow the server to strive along with its members. :)
    C. For this point, I'd say the quote above follows. If you believe the organization is poor, explain. Validate your points and support it, along with a possible solution so the matter can be addressed quicker and easily; whining is negative, but expressing your concerns politely is taking action to create a positive flow to the server and its community.

The new map was big, and I looked around, but it's just too big. There's too many places to hide and camp, and it's even more of just walking into an intersection and getting your a** kicked. I agree the map is large, and as stated, this can be assessed by our staff team as well as any player who has friendly suggestions to consider. Please be sure to leave positive suggestions instead of complaining, with all due respect. Instead of leaving because "no one listens", take action as you will receive the desired support you wish for. My intent by this thread is not to break down "how you are wrong"; my hopes is to leave feedback to not only improve your messaging skills, but to also create a positive environment with ways to help instead of whining. I care about each individual's opinions, as I'm here to listen and help you; the other staff are the same way, except I express it more to ensure you're aware on how to gain the help you need, or even reassurance on small concerns. I'm listening and I understand where you're getting at, though most of what you are saying is complaints. I've given a response to help you help us improve this server, and more. I consider myself a high staff member, and no matter the rank, we will help you if you need it. Some staff members are introverts and decide to privately help others, therefore they do not receive recognition for how well done they complete their staff duties. Please know that you can message us with any questions or concerns respectfully and we'll do what we can for you. ^v^

That's really definitive. I don't want a crappy estimate, I want a date. That's like asking a military general when they plan on sending a new attack and they reply "I dunno, probably soon".
To be blunt, I do not believe I was permitted to set a specific date, and this was for a reason. If you requested the knowledge of a set attack to a military general, they would most likely keep it confidential, but give you a general date so they were able to help you even in the slightest. (This would be due to the fact that you weren't in the field that is required to contain this information)
The game was fun but the own high staff's unreliability has made many people including myself stop playing.
As stated prior to this, if you aren't satisfied with how things are being run, please notify us and scavenge a solution. If you just give up on something because it didn't work out the first time and you didn't believe anyone was there to aid you, it will not get better and you'll leave something that was thought as "bad" or people were "unreliable" when all you had to do was take action and reach out to us. I have connections with higher staff, and if something must have priority, I will report it, so please mind that. Instead of quitting as you don't think it will work, see what you can do and how we can assist you.

I hope this post can help you HyperScrub, as it demonstrates a respectful statement and reason to it. @Jahango took a step in our shoes understand where we are at in this as well as your perspective as a player. Seeing both sides, he was able to write a message to give a general perspective and appreciate a few things we do for you. Even respectfully stating that something can be modified for the better with a friendly and suggestive point of view is fantastic; summing up the problem can even be great, seeing that you aren't required to give a solution, as long as you understand our point, the fact that we are here and trying, we will consider your opinion with the right choice of words and a proper message, etc.

    "b-but high staff have lives!2!1!11"
We do indeed, and sometimes we won't be able to get back to you at that instant, but when possible, we are always here to help. Jahango's post has an explanation for your point here so I don't need to go in depth on it. :D

I hope this message helped you, and please don't hesitate to contact me privately of any questions or concerns you have, because I will help you to the best of my abilities. I enjoy being staff and helping the server/community, so I would be honoured to see a distressed player later become satisfied and happy with the service I was able to give them. :)

The long posts are strong with this one

Anyways back to saying useful to say for a change, the staff do help. I get a response from them within 5 or so minutes of pming then in game,or within 1-2 days if it's a forum message. And just to make it easier, everyone who has a suggestion for any part of havoc (any servers) leave it on my profile, or email me it if it's super long [email protected]
I'm making a google docs on suggestions (assuming someone cares enough to make a message on meh profile about it) once there's like 20 or so suggestions, I'll send it to a staff member or something :p
(if you emailed me, just put a message on profile saying "check your email") that way staff aren't getting spammed.

i agree but dont you guys have 10 minutes to look through a small suggestion and think "this is a good, reasonable idea" then pass it up to developers? i haven't seen a single suggestion or problem on the forums fixed. (me personally) and in map maker IT IS OK TO GRIEF PEOPLE as said by staff members, and yes, some rumors of nick too. i got griefed and was stripped of hard work. redstone used to ignite the tnt was there, some SOMEBODY cant type a simple logblock command?

I think HavocMC owners actually interact with their players a lot more than other big owners of bigger servers, the owners on there are just for the money and rarely ever show their faces at all, they let their staff handle the server for them while they just rake in the cash and pay the bills
:V I beg to differ. The owners definitely rake in the money... at least, they used to. They used to take in thousands of dollars. You'd think they'd hire more developers/coders to get things moving along and improve the server. But all that cash keeps disappearing into a mysterious void. Insert constant sales and the Mythical rank. It was a final cash grab, right? So, I don't agree with you that the owners aren't for the money.

On the point where staff are more involved with players, I also disagree. They are as slow as christmas in releasing anything. They hardly ever consider the player's' suggestions, they NEVER respond to discord or forum messages (at least in my experience, that is), and you rarely ever see them on the actual server. I have seen the owners only TWICE in the four years that I've played this server. 1st time was IgnitingIce and he gave me a warning for saying "stfu," the 2nd being Nickk announcing the new CPS limit.

The point: The owners have an even lesser role than in the big servers. At least those servers still run worth a darn.
