*this thread is for stating what happened and how to fix the problem ONLY. don't complain about how you got banned for something. I don't care, and others don't need your negativity. I apologize for the sass *
I recently created a report of someone admitting to hacking. the report was denied. apparently providing evidence of admitting to hacking is not viable evidence. I'm sure we have all experienced the hacker population of HavocMC rising. that's the first problem. the second problem is the anticheat we use now needs an upgrade. this one takes time and effort to code, so I don't blame any of the hard working staff for it not being out yet. quality is key! the last problem is reporting/punishment. I'll explain that one later.
first problem: hackers. those wonderful boxes of "i want to die now" because they just jacked all your stuff. don't you just love them? no? same! I want them all gone. I have several ideas on how we as a community could solve this problem.
1) Make groups who are willing to gather evidence against hackers, even if it means dying a few times. wether it be screenshots of abusing glitches like gate killing, suffocating, orfeeding-you-to-zombies, or getting video evidence of something like speed mods, KillAura, etc. if they get caught every time, there will be less of them.
2) educate everyone on how to differentiate between a pro fighter and someone using mods. I have seen people who are hacking be called out in chat, and the. they leave the server. don't say anything! don't let them know your on to them! keep quiet and try gathering evidence/ contact online staff members. I personally have been accused of AimBot, but it may have been hard to tell that I did/did not have AimBot. I was not in this persons line of sight, and shot them with the Barret when they exited cdc (I was on that one tiny building next to pool and across from apartments near cdc). they didn't see me, so how can they tell if it was AimBot? other scenarios like this happen, where one player may confuse modifications with a good player, or maybe the one hackusating just lagged long enough to be shot. if people learn to spot differences from legit kills and modifications, hackusating in chat would go down, and reports would be more for ACTUAL cheaters.
3)have higher punishments for going against rules.
*I have referred to the actual rules page on the website. I know staff have a more recent version, and if I could get a copy of them that would be great <3*
CHAT: I feel the chat rules are fine. other than the occasional "you stupid n***er", "dumb redneck" or other racist remarks (both of these were from same player after I shot him ) there really isn't much in the public chat. like my examples above, I can't say what private chats are like. I would hope they are appropriate and follow rules....
MODS: X-ray/ minimap modifications should be a normal ban, since they are pvp hacks that lets you see through walls. Maybe banning minimap all together since some people can't leave player finding off. Since this isn't fair to those who use minimap as a map and nothing else, I would make blank maps a findable object so people can see the area around them (maybe devs can make a map that changes as you travel to different areas of the world?) REPORTING MODS: be stricter on what is and isn't evidence. in my case, the player saying they had mods (movement mods, invisibility) should have been enough for a warning, since it could be qualified as a chat related offence (same category as threatening to DDoS the server). for movement hacks maybe tell people to take rapid screenshots if their game can't be recorded/no recording software or camera. I can put all the images into a GIF for your viewing pleasure if you need me too <3.
SERVER OFFENSES:
Instead of "no explosives near sz" have them work like cars which cannot be used within a certain area of the safezone. no guns/explosions, no problem!
Along with normal "benefiting from hacker" punishments, wipe any items given by the hacker. it's bad enough they kill us, but now all our loot is going to random people who didn't even earn it. #CripplingDepression4Days
make pain-chugging qualify as a glitch. wanna know what happens when you use too many? m.webmd.com
That's all for now! Thanks for reading!

I apologize for lack of caps, I'm currently on a device where auto caps is disabled while using the keyboard
{About this thread}
the event described in the first paragraph gave me the idea for this thread. I really want to see HavocMC grow, but being too loose with punishments can cause a server to get out of hand. staying strict makes sure people follow the rules and provides a fun experience for the players. if you have any constructive criticism, please leave it below. if you hate my guts for anything I posted, private message me all your hate. don't post it here.
let me know what you would like to change/add to HavocMC in the box below.
I love you all my dudes <3 Enjoy your day/night/whatever!
