How to get out of Newnan?

I managed to get into Newnan thinking the gates were just closed from the inside, so with that thought in mind i was convinced I would be able to get back out. I cant. I've been trying for over an hour and i cant find any way to get out. I don't want to kill myself, I have some really good stuff so that is out of the question (unless things come to WORSE, im trying to keep hope).

Is anybody able to help me? Give me an tips or know a way to get out? Are people even meant to go in there?

I'd be happy to help, but unfortunately, I'll not be able to access my laptop for another four days.

I'd suggest you some solutions:
-Try asking another staff member to teleport you to them who's online at the time, I bet they'll be in a safe zone.
-Look around for any possible exit, even the smallest detail or lever counts. I'd suggest looking for parkour-styled blocks or even ladders to scale the rooftops, hope that helps!

I'd like to state that I've never been in that area, so if I'm wrong please correct me.

Yea, I followed my compass on Newnan and it lead me to an iron gated area, its like gated all around an undercovered area and a small building.

you could arrange for someone to drop off some barricades in exchange for money for something. do you have enough food/water to last? and if zombies spawn, will your melee last?
