    G'day all , Wavy here.

Additional facts : This post even applies to Steam Trading

Ever had a good deal that seemed too good to be true ? You do the deal naively and 'Poof !' Your items are gone and your left with an empty inventory. Here's a guide on how to avoid said issues from happening.

First off, I'd like to relate to an incident that happened today while I was trading.

We'll use this as an example for the whole guide.

Too much rant up there ? Let's just go through this guide.

    • The most important rule of all .. Never ever rush through the trade even when the other party is telling you to hurry up. Check the items and its description, how it can be used and does it work or not.

    Take this for example:
    MP5J5BN.png

*The guy told me to hurry up on the trade as he gave me ten minutes to agree with his deal.

    • Next, if you are not the proposing party, never go first in a trade. They tend to make you go first so they will be able to scam your items quickly
    For example:
    s6093DP.png

*He's proposing a deal and yet he isn't going first.

    • Check the item prices before trading as to minimize the chances of the scammer manipulating item prices as to make them seem more valuble than they actually are.
    For example:
    TDrjO7S.png

*He was trying to act oblivious to the fact that Immortal is on sale for only 70 bucks.

    • Never ever trust middleman. A so-called "middleman" might be a friend of the scammer or even an alt of the scammer himself. When a person brings up the topic "Middleman", say No.
    For example:
    zIoeYX7.png

*He was attempting to get a middleman in order to make the trade seem easier...

    • Lastly, use common sense when trading for cash, also try recording when your doing much riskier trades such as cash trades etc, it might serve as proof or a reminder to other players when you get scammed.
    • There's also an alternate method that works really really well. Don't trade at all.

Remember ! A deal that seems too good to be true ends up in a scam most of the time.

*Also, I'd love to add more colours and make it less boring but I just don't have the time as I wrote this in a hurry ... sorry if this post ain't good. Do suggest on what I should improve on my next post.

I never implied that he scammed me. He just tried to and failed. So I'll just make it an example for you mates.
