  • Mine Wars Conquest: Reduce the minimum amount of players required to 2?

Mine Wars Conquest could definitely become more popular, and a good way to do this would be to reduce the required amount of players needed to start a game from 10 (its current required amount at the time of this post). This may seem a little radical, but I would like to propose that we reduce the minimum to just 2 players. All we really need to make two teams is two players. Of course, more players can join these small battles when they want, and they probably will if a battle starts after just two players join, because there will be much less waiting for a game to start. It will be a big break for high-level players that are trying to get more exp, and may even bring some of the OGs back. And let's not forget about that "a battle is starting" notification that gets triggered when one or two players join. That notification will become much more relevant if a battle actually takes only 2 players to start. Mine Wars Conquest can easily become more popular by reducing the required amount of players. I'm sure the devs want us to play the games they work so hard to make.

TL;DR - Reducing the minimum amount of players required to start a game of Mine Wars Conquest will greatly benefit the popularity of the game.

As a frequent player in Mine Wars, I would have to say that players should be able to toggle the notification that conquest is starting as I know there's a handful of mw players that don't play on conquest at all. I don't think reducing the amount of players to start a game would be a good solution to get more players on it though. The biggest complaint I see is that there's only one map on conquest which turns players away, now from what _VC_ has said, Scarif is being built as well as some other maps for conquest. This alone, would bring more players to conquest however it's a matter of keeping them engaged to the gamemode that counts and I think the best way to do this is to add daily & weekly quests for conquest. An example of a daily quest would be where you have to kill a certain amount of people in one game. As for the weekly quest, you could have to capture 100 zones, killing 100 people and kill Luke or Darth Vader at least once.

That would probably be pretty effective. However I often see that there are small groups of people trying to play conquest that can't because they only have, say, 6 people instead of the required 10. I just think that reducing the required amount to the bare minimum of 2 players will allow these smaller groups to play, and these smaller groups may snowball if other players see that a game is happening. My suggestion is certainly not the only solution, I just think it will be a quick and easy start to improving Mine Wars. If the devs are working on new maps and quests to encourage players to participate more, that's great.

You're right about the small group of players not being able to play the game due to the fact there's not enough players then they leave however I think when the new updates are released for Mine Wars/Conquest that the player limit (hopefully) won't be a problem anymore.

They increased the required amount of players needed for a game to start for a reason.

I would love this to be implemented. Maybe 2 is a bit low, though. I think 4 would make a more intense then just 2. With 2, they would barely see each other, and that's no good for kills.

Even 4 is too low. The reason the amount of players needed to start a game was increased was because people who had an alt used it and grinded points for a lot of xp (3k xp a game). Normally there is always 1 or 2 players afk so 4 players is still too low. At the moment I think that 10 players required for a game to start is fine. The map is also way too big for 4 players. This idea would not increase the games popularity at all.

It might not increase to popularity, but it will make it have more then 3 games per day.

"This idea would not increase the games popularity at all" is a little melodramatic, IMO. When I said it would increase the popularity, I was thinking similarly to xHobbes. The game is not played much because of this 10-player minimum. You make a good point with the alt-grinding, but the way I see it, this new 2-player minimum will not make games strictly 2-4 players per match. A 2-player minimum will allow any amount of people to play, and I doubt people will see a game starting with just 2 players and not want to join in. Reducing the minimum to 4 players like xHobbes suggests will probably help counter the alt-grinders. I doubt 4 players would join a game and then two decide to go afk, one brought his alt to grind, and nobody else decides to join. That sounds like a worst-case scenario.
