I might start making another series about particular guns. This one will be about the Winchester.
As the frequent user of Hunter, I find that I've gotten much better with the Winchester. If you don't have a sniper, take it. It may end up saving you.
With one shot per clip and only 7 damage, it eats through sniper clips like no tomorrow. That's why this gun requires a simple word. Patience. If you aren't patient with the 'chester, you'll run out of ammo and find yourself needing to get closer before you can re-adjust. Each shot HAS to hit.
If you're out in the open with the 'chester and the other person knows you are there, strafing is your best option. Use the A & D keys to strafe while lining your crosshair up on the person. Get as close to a perfect aim as you can while moving. Then quickscope the shot and sprint-strafe while reloading. DO NOT STAND STILL.
If you're in cover, you want to spend as much time covered as you can. Do not remain exposed while reloading. You will be an easy target.
I used to hate the Winchester with a burning passion. But over time I've learned how to use it.
