As I have come to accept, there are many different playstyles on TMD. Some like Safezone Gate PvP, others 1v1 in jugg, some are just PvE roleplayers, and some (like mehself) are low loot/no loot fighters. So keeping that in mind, I know opinions will differ on the topic of painkillers. The Safezones campers/juggernauts are a fan of spamable pains, while low loot/no looters hate them. So, that being said, let the salty topic begin.

[This next paragraph is my personal opinion, but i will swap perspectives in a bit] As a low loot/no looter, I absolutely (I cannot stress this enough) DESPISE pains. I hate them with a burning passion. I want them removed from the game completely. From my point of view, I can be naked with a barrett and stand absolutely zero chance against a jugg, simply because they have pains. The jugg/pains combo makes you virtually invincible, which is heavily unfair to anyone trying to fight you with loot that's even remotely less good than yours. To my dismay, I know that pains won't get removed because how much of a staple they are of TMD culture. I can accept that fact.

On the other side of the coin, the 1v1ers depend on pains, and I completely understand this. While its not my personal playstyle, there is definently a skillset required to be good at 1v1s. I will never say that using pains means you have no skill. It requires timing. If all you do is sit back and try to pain, it gives your opponent the chance to approach with a katana, which you cannot outpain. The only way to win is survive until your opponent slips up the pain/attack balance. Without pains, 1v1s would be over almost as soon as they began.

So why are pains so good? All they're SUPPOSED to do is give regen for a short time. But. It's not. Every time you start a new pain, it gives half a heart, so all you need to do is spam-click the pains and it fills your health back up within a second or two. If you're in riot you eventually do die if its to a high-tier gun, like the Barrett. But if you're in jugg, guns don't do enough damage. You just pain back to full before you get hit again. An item combination that allows this is by definition... BROKEN. And it's something we've had to put up with forever.

So. With all this being said, the anti-Autoclicker test session is being run right now. I have not personally tried this, but from what I've heard is that you cannot pain if your cursor is touching a hitbox, be it for a block or another entity. This means you need to punch at the sky. As much as I hate pains, I believe this is the nerf they needed. While this means that the jugg/pains combo is still possible, it does make it more awkward and in certain areas like fields with tall grass or forests with lots of trees, its much harder to do. While I still believe the Jugg/Pain combo is broken, it isn't as good as it used to be. And I'm willing to accept this. I wish it could be worse, like the altogether removal of either jugg or pains, but I know it wont happen. So I can live with this compromise.

How about you guys? Are pains broken? Do they need removed? Is the rightclick nerf enough?

This topic is going to get more salt than the ocean... so let me start this out as nice as possible.

In all seriousness, I have this type of gameplay where I can get high tier armor and weapons and not spam my painkillers (weird, right). While the painkiller update doesn’t really effect me, I do see your reasoning when it comes to other players (particularly in Jugg) abusing it like they are Michael Jackson or Whitney Houston.

    Wait a minute...

    WAIT A MINUTE!!!

Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston both died because of overdoses, right?

Can you already see where I’m going here?

What if... the more you take painkillers, the higher risk you have to dying. It could be like radiation from Fallout. You can wait for that amount to diminish, but if you take too much, you could find yourself sitting next to Michael Jackson (or Glenn)!

Honestly, you need to pvp a bit to understand that atm, pains are perfectly fine. The pain cap is amazing atm. People like Jahango and Nasty actually quickie. The problem is the katana. The katana should honestly be nerfed. And the guns should be buffed because the spas only does 2 hearts of damage. The spas should at least do 4 hearts and the barret is fine since I can instantly kill a full jugg if I hit them with a barret 3 times in a quick frame of time

About the Spaz, it goes back to one of @ChlngeAccepted 's post on shotguns. There needs to be more pellets.

Maybe a message pops up in chat and tells the player to “slow down on their painkiller intake” so they don’t overdose? Maybe just apply extra nausea effect so it doesn’t interfere much with pvp? I mean, medpacks still exist anyway, and bandages.

Remove pains from the shop and it’ll be fixed soon
