SUGGESTED UNPACKER 4 MODS

Hi there. I am currently trying to install optifine to my Windows 10 PC. I have everything downloaded, EXCEPT FOR AN UNPACKER. I need a suggestion on which one I should use, if possible I would like to use a windows store app, if not possible I need it to be free. Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks in advance!

You don't need an unpacker. Make sure you have Java before you get Optifine

Use winRAR, super popular and easy to use, its also the only unpacker I know of lol.

Lmao how is this wrong again? You get Java it's free. You download optifine. As for windows 10 it won't let you officially download optifine without Java I have one of my own. You use Java to open optifine up then a little thing with pop up and it lets you install Optifine to your version of minecraft. Was really just explaining that you need Java

Yeah you were right about the java part, but you do need an unpacker. When you download optifine, it comes zipped. The only way to use it is to unzip it, which is what winRAR does.

Oh well I never needed winRAR I don't have it installed but I still am able to have optifine

... Somehow I don't know if this is true, but on my windows 7, I have to ask "chose the program" to open a mod file. Then as a program listed, and java as platform, offer to execute the "mod / .jar file" like if it was a .exe.

To conclude, I guess, we could install a mod without having an unpacker; note also that I use win-raw even after the 40 days of free trial.
