Compared to past PvE experiences, how hard is it to survive on PvE servers now?

Well, it all depends on gear.

But because the loot system has changed, some stuff is harder to find.

I'd say it's fairly hard to survive. Harder than before.

Just get to Atlanta and farm. Fairly easy.
