Hello the so-called "community" of TMD. We recently had an update for the TMD servers. I am quite befuddled on what I saw on the reset of TMD and the lack of work being done to Mine Wars. Here's what I have to say: Us members of the TMD server don't need mistreatment from the owner. I sound angry, know why? Cause I am. The Mine Wars has been post-poned MANY MANY times, and people are dis-a-ppointed with it, with treating us members with complete disrespect. I don't play mine wars, but I do understand their frustration for you not keeping your word, making us hard to trust anything you spill out from your mouth. That adds to my next argument. I've been part of TMD community back when minecarts and Finley port were around, remember those good ol' days? I gained money from killing and killing and killing numerous of walkers, now we're here 3 yrs later saying we're just gonna wipe it away to "freshen" the server? I don't see a reason to do that. This server has been dead for a year, probably more. With resetting the money, that is disrespect for your old TMD veterans. That is NOT fair that we invested a lot to gain that much. To the new players who are probably pretty happy at getting like... 2hd k dollars, then it's getting erased. LISTEN TO YOUR PLAYERS! Give them a voice! Sooner or later, this server will become a dead walker. It's already limping.

Amen, tbh This is kinnd of true, The owners do need to listen to the community, I may be a staff member but I hardly have a say in much, and ive tried to give out the suggestions that people have given, they look at them and I dont think they do anything with them. its sad to see because this server has potential but they don't listen to the community.

Very true. Minewars has been proposed for a pretty long time and lots of players really want to see minewars 2.0. But to keep it short and simple in the post the owners stated "For the time being, we feel it would be more beneficial for the server to focus on consistent updates to TMD and Hell Night." Mine wars 2.0 will be added just not now. The main focus of the server is tmd and the owners feel like working on tmd a little more with be beneficial it is probably for a good reason. Also tmd is also the main focus of there income for the server and a lot of players play it. Don't get me wrong I wanted to see Mine wars 2.0 as well even know I don't play Mine wars that much which might change when it comes out the owners feel like tmd is more beneficial to them than working on mine wars and they probably have a good reason to say that. With the reset happening I think the owners want to start fresh with the servers since there are coming with these new updates and the new seasons coming out.

Yall gotta realize though, if jacob has to do it for the server to live to begin with it has to be done, he did say he isn't resetting stats though, MW can die though, no point investing time in a 3 player daily server.

The issue that the players have with the current plan isn't solely to do with the update being pushed back. The players have an issue because they are constantly told the update will be "soon", and then it doesn't happen. It gets repeatedly pushed back. People would be a lot less angry if they weren't being lied to multiple times. They're logical people, they can understand priorities, but no one likes being lied to. They'd be better off if, instead of being told "The MW update is soon" a bunch of different times, they just hadn't been promised anything in the first place. Can't be mad about delayed updates if they didn't know an update was planned to happen "soon".

Mate, i thought the same thing initially... it is a nasty pill to swallow. But as you point out, the server is on a downward trend. the owners need new players to keep the server active at all, not the least to update it. so they nerfed the power of pain spam in the hopes of making new players stand more of a chance. however the new players are still heavily outgunned and everyone is at the point of not needing crates because they have everything. no crates= no money= no server. considering how sudden and frankly nuclear this move is, it was an absolute last resort.

no one is happy about losing their stuff. but most of the player base has seen the bigger picture. the simple question is would you rather keep your stuff and the server go offline in a matter of months or lose it all to keep the server alive, bring in new players? the owners made a mistake announcing mine wars before being 100% sure. however the truth that has to be accepted is that whatever doubts there are about mine wars seeing an update, i guarantee the odds of a mine wars update are much lower if the server goes down. I know its been way too long and i can see that it sucks to have waited so long, but heres what i will say to the owners credit. they are trying SOMETHING. they have taken a crappy situation and made something good out of it. do you know why im sure that this was a last resort decision? because they are risking the entire player base in the hopes that the server can save itself. So divisive posts like yours offer no help.

YES EVERYONE HAS NOTICED A RESET SUCKS.

look at the good not the bad. also something i realized- the owners are not bound to listen to the player base. they listen to the server. whats best for the server may not be best for the players short term. there have been resets before. the server survived. we will now too. Support the staff, dont take the anger out on them. the ones ive talked to said they found out the same time we all did. this was a very high level decision.

owners are trying to meet us in the middle. we keep our stats, and a little of our stuff. they didnt have to do that. they met us in the middle. lets all do that for them ok?

Well, no, they didn’t have to do it. You’re right.

    And I can act as my own attorney in court. But if I sabotage my own trial, I’ll go to jail. I believe a similar principle applies;

If they reset stats, I think a good deal of the OGs who had very good stats would be outraged and i dare say quit over a perceived injustice. I personally see no point of having a stat reset— It doesn’t really change much in the grand scheme of things but I do believe ELO is a poor system for a game like this (as the ELO system was originally designed in chess for traditional 1v1s as opposed to a hypothetical 1v5).

If they fully reset, I’m positive that anyone that felt like they made any progress or accomplishment would be crushed.

I think that the staff did less acquiescing and a lot more backpedaling. From what I saw, it read much more as “woah woah hold on guys here take your stats” as opposed to “here, let them have it I guess”.

And I’ll add that the owners really are bound to the playerbase. If, say, Epic Games decided to release a new SMG which does 35 damage at 1200RPM for Fortnite, the backlash would be incredible. That doesn’t mean they’re obligated legally to remove it, of course, but if they didn’t people would boycott or demand change until some significant “injustices” were corrected (the weapon being very overpowered).

I think the staff made a huge error in judgement in thinking the players needed change, because they really didn’t. There really WASN’T a huge need for change in map. There really WAS a huge need for better anticheat and protection against macro/autoclick users. And neither of those things really happened. As the server playerbase began to dwindle, it never really became clear that although many were disliked, the “OGs” were many times the vocal, outspoken members of the community who built the server and kept it action-packed.

But by the time a CPS cap was added, the playerbase was at 300 online as opposed to 800. And when I began to check the server status after a long period of personal hiatus, I was honestly dumbfounded seeing 150 be a daily high in online players.

And as an additional final statement, I don’t think the OP’s post is divisive at all. I don’t even play MW at all and I think it’s ridiculous. It’s like washing a brand new car every day while your other one sits in its own filth for months, while you shrug and say “Well, if only I had time to wash my other car..”

    a few things
    1) i doubt u read my post entirely because the point seemed to have gone right over ur head,
    2) staff moderate the server, they have no active role in updates except at the highest levels.
    3) jahango is one of the best known ogs and he is in support of this as its for THE GREATER GOOD. yes it will hurt the server short term, but long term it may give the server new life.
    4) elo is a system designed on the relative skill of ur opponent and its true it was made for chess. it also has been used around the world for countless other games. if you dont like elo, ignore it and look at ur k/d ratio. also the part u wrote about stats reset was confusing. look at @Jacobg1998 post again.
    5) in regards to what u said about the map and meds, etc. updates happen. no matter what anyone does someone will not be happy about something.
    6) the last part about the car. i think its less about "time" and more the "water" needed. think of the money in the server as money. you can wash one car, or badly wash both.
    7) reset is happening- accept it.
    8) before quoting someones post and responding with utter nonsense take the time to read the post u have quoted. thanks :)

I read it all. I just think your main points are misguided and clueless in basically every regard possible.

I refer to “staff” as the upper staff, mainly the ones with control in large decisions. I don’t really care too much otherwise.

Jahango is in support of this solely because 90 percent of his team has been banned, left the server, or left the team. In my opinion it’s less because of an actual desire for change and more or less a frantic realization of “oh no, I can’t use macros anymore with my 6 man team”.

And I’ll again rebut to say that the original map changes were not something the community really wanted. I didn’t really see many posts in favor of a map redesign prior to the announcement. And although I’d say maybe 70% of the playerbase was in favor of the redesign, it seems as though they never really found a good fit as the server kept bouncing around with new ideas instead of returning to the elements which made them so popular in the first place.

And the car thing? No. There’s no “time” involved here. They’ve had more than enough time to redirect focus on MW— and that’s been a lengthy pursuit according to players I’ve talked to. Instead, they choose to keep updating TMD every few weeks despite no exceptionally good reason to.

And I’ll finally mention that your “reset is happening” garbage is so deluded it hurts. I don’t even play this server much at all anymore but all this did is redivide the playerbase more. I’ll bet:
    -More older players leave
-Less general interest as playercount dips further
-It takes 10 minutes to find a single player outside of berx
-Progress grinds to a halt as there is little to no motivation to keep playing

This was not a way to make the server live longer. I think they went the way of Epic Games— catering to new players when there was no reason for them to.

I’m not going to bother responding to this thread again (as this account is a throwaway of a friend’s and I would prefer not stirring drama or getting banned).

Macros for Chat is the only thing allowed, anything that could benefit you in PVP will get your *** immediately banned. If some of you are unclear why macros are OP this is the general explanation: You program your keyboard and mouse to run a sequence of keys and movements by pressing one key. So pretty much you can do comboing for 5 minutes by pressing one key, not a PVP advantage what so ever. And yes, people in this community who are the "best" all have in some point used something unfair/unethical to be better then others. We could have never had any problems if our community didn't have this much competition...

Hey and MindBlaster, congrats on getting yourself banned.

Jesus... You calling what I said followed by saying something stupid pains me.

u really wanna do this? ok lets dance.

"I refer to “staff” as the upper staff, mainly the ones with control in large decisions. I don’t really care too much otherwise." - bull****. if people refer to the "upper staff" knowing the difference they call them owners not just staff.

"Jahango is in support of this solely because 90 percent of his team has been banned, left the server, or left the team. In my opinion it’s less because of an actual desire for change and more or less a frantic realization of “oh no, I can’t use macros anymore with my 6 man team”.
    - read his post. not even close to the reason. and unless you are him you cant claim to know his reasoning.

"And although I’d say maybe 70% of the playerbase was in favor of the redesign,"
-this is whats called a super majority. basically means not many give a **** or support this view anymore especially as the issue has LONG since passed.

"And the car thing? No. There’s no “time” involved here. They’ve had more than enough time to redirect focus on MW— and that’s been a lengthy pursuit according to players I’ve talked to"
-time is not the issue- money is. tmd makes more and can keep the server alive- mine wars cannot at the moment. also reread my metaphor i used because i think you seem to have misinterpreted it.

"And I’ll finally mention that your “reset is happening” garbage is so deluded it hurts."
    - i beg to differ - Along with this update, we will be doing a reset to The Mining Dead. This reset will include Gear and Money
    heres the link. https://havocmc.net/threads/the-mining-dead-seasons-reset.6301/

"I don’t even play this server much at all"
-then why are you complaining in its forums?

"This was not a way to make the server live longer. I think they went the way of Epic Games— catering to new players when there was no reason for them to."
-now i know for a fact you cant see the bigger picture. if the owners think short term, servder is ****ed long term. they are screwing up the server a little now to save it long term.

"I’m not going to bother responding to this thread again (as this account is a throwaway of a friend’s and I would prefer not stirring drama or getting banned)."
-yeah....not start drama...bull****- "I just think your main points are misguided and clueless in basically every regard possible."

can we be done now or will i have to rip apart your next post as well?
