    Og’s = wars = players = good playerbase = more ppl to kill = fun = repeat
Not necessarily.... OG's usually only war within themselves, and are heavily exclusive (been there, done that). And you can't say "good playerbase" when a majority of the OGs are banned for hacking and being genuine *******s. The last three "reasons" are also highly subjective...

Hate to break it to ya, but many of the toxic OGs have done some pretty bad harm in terms of community likability.

Yes indeed we are rude. but if that guy didnt **** us off. maybe we will not be rude.
Lol there's the problem. You think everything is about you.

It's become an infinite regression of "his fault, their fault, etc etc etc etc." What that person said was not inherently rude, nor was it calling anyone out specifically. However, he is not wrong for bringing up that statement; it's just objective truth that there are many "og" players who hack (though, there are many who don't and are just as good!). The problem lies in the a) narcissistic and b) unecessarily rude natures of many of the outspoken minority (you would fall under this category, based on what I just pieced together). You immediate jump from 0-100 with no precedent. It's rude. It's annoying. No one cares. If it's not true, it's not true. If it is, then so be it? There's no reason to be so malicious and spiteful.

Phew. Rant over. and I take pleasure in replying, so keep it comin.' Ya'll just keep strengthening my argument.

I think at this point so many "ogs" have come and gone- most not by choice- that the term "OG" is more an insult than anything and applies to very few players. Ive not been around since the start but its been a hot minute. In my time on the server, ive been a helper that was (i think) widely respected, a trial builder (not great but i try lol) , youtuber (informal, but im what they got for now), and just there playing, running, shooting, chatting, exploring. New players join in to see what the walking dead server looks like. "oh hey pvp, i got this" gets shot twice by barret. "help" they say in chat. what do they get in response? taunts, silence, or help/advice?

OGs are players sure, but they dont MAKE the playerbase. they just happen to be a fairly dedicated bunch of players. The owners are doing their part to revive the server. They kept their word on MM and the best part? the maps are still there. The build and dev team is hard at work already building the next map, and @_Nickk made it pretty clear in discord they are considering a long requested revamp to tmd. a blend of realism server and a separate more "war friendly" server.now its the community's turn to help out.

we have the content, the advertising, and a fairly large core of players. If the community is to grow more the community must not be so exclusive. we see new players as "noobs". hell im guilty of this. but instead of seeing and easy kill, we should see a potential player. if they learn the game, they could be really good with practice, or maybe they will eternally suck at the game, point is- if they enjoy it, they should be able to stay and not be cast out. make new players feel welcome, help em out. if they stay- thats another player. maybe he has friends- boom thats two more. the player count rises slowly sure but it will rise if we are welcoming. any player that logs on obviously is interested in the server's theme. do what you can to make em stay. A simple hi in response to them in chat can be the difference between someone feeling welcome and feeling alienated.

this has turned into an advice column so ill end it there lol.

a quick suggestion- make shout being on as the default. new players join and say "hello?" in chat wondering why there is no reply. chances are they dont know about shout upon joining.
