  • Firearms Rebalance? yet another poll for another idea of mine :P

    so what do you think is an attempt like this to rebalance the gun play worth it or not?

    This is a WIP concept so don't be too harsh okay I know we have seen these threads a million times before but rarely have there been any that go so in depth and detail like I have.

    Most of the time its just kids spamming "add nue gunz plz" and bla bla bla but unlike them im not demanding anything here as I am perfectly capable of editing the games RP on my own with minimal effort :/ I just want the communities feedback on my ideas before setting anything in motion proverbially speaking.

    So yea more or less I want to see the guns re balanced / tweaked to make them more distinct from each other and a little bit more viable to use in PVP servers for varieties sake.

    This is also geared towards making them more lore friendly to the show and therefore this is also for the sake of boosting the games immersion value. Im also tweaking the DPS values to have more consistency among same caliber guns too but again this is all highly WIP.

    Here is a basic overview of what im talking about and please note that everything here is subject to change and is still a very WIP concept.

    Also bolt actions have a substantially slower ROF but in return gain a 0.5 damage boost over their semi auto counter parts even if same caliber due to higher firing pressures in manually operated closed bolt systems as opposed to gas operated semi autos ones.

    EDIT : Also I can provide links to images of said guns im talking about to give you all a better idea of what ill be going for once i start making weapon models from scratch while using the old ones for testing reference.

    I think shotguns are listed as semi-auto, not pump action (having a different stat would be cool tho)

    pump action would just mean that its rate of fire would be much slower "timed to match the shoot / pump action sounds" over the semi auto ones like the SPAS-12. This simulates the action of pumping the gun to load a fresh shell from the magazine since MC still lacks a proper 1st person arm rig for animating ....

    im working on resolving that issue via the mo bends mod as a base to work off of and of course this also means ill be playing around with ragdoll animations as well as 3rd person anims.

    Also it may seem a lil OP given how fast semi autos can shoot but the trade off for that is that the guns run out of ammo much faster and given how slow shotguns reload in TMD any semi auto shot gunner is essentially caught with their pants down when they are reloading IE very easy targets so imho it is a fair trade off.

    This is all well and good, but why should they replace some of the guns? Can't they just add these new ones considering they haven't added new guns since ever in the time i've been playing. Also, why would specials only be available in crates that doesn't make sense. Just to make them rare? Special doesn't necessarily mean rare.

    no i mean can edit the resource pack and as for the 1st person animation i have 2 ideas on how to make that work via the RP and a server side forge mod.

    Also I want specials like the SPAS-12 to be voting crate only items and rare as **** as those guns would be by far the most OP in game. And some guns like the G-36C were never seen in the Walking Dead show + they are very rarely imported & hard to own Class 3 weapons in the US. To legally import and by one would literally cost you around the 10,000 dollar + range IRL.

    As for the 1st person animations I always intended to make them ideally for client side use via a forge mod. Weather or not the developers of TMD decide to use my work on this project as a server side mod is up to them.

    For now the 1st person animation mod is being developed to work with vanilla Minecraft just to see if its even plausible and viable. If I manage to make a working viable mod for it ill move on to making a TMD compatible version if possible.

    But basically what I am going for is similar to this from the Advanced Armory Alpha mod

    UPDATE This project has been temporarily shelved for the foreseeable future due to life issues getting in the way for me. I got hurt at work and am now dealing with a hairline fracture in my lower spine and my employer refuses to take responsibility for it after sweeping the whole incident under the rug, thus I am also dealing with legal issues as well >_< ..... FML and my accursed luck >_>
