While many critics and historical analyzers love to point at the many instances of communism, such as Stalin's Union of Socialist Republics (USSR) and Mao's Great Leap Forward, as incorrect versions of the economical system. They often state that "true communism/socialism has never been tried" and that if it had been, we'd all be living in a socialist utopia. The fact of the matter is that socialism and communism, while viable in the short term, do not stand up to the test of time and lead to economical ruin in the long run.
Am I really going to devote a thread to the failings of an economical system? No, of course not.
Today I am going to open a conversation into the topic of bias. What is "bias" you may ask, and surely, it doesn't exist on this wonderful minecraft server... right? Wrong. "Bias", as defined by google search because I was too lazy to look it up anywhere else, is summarized as "inclination or prejudice for or against one person or group, especially in a way considered to be unfair". So that is what bias is, but does it really exist on a server about the Walking Dead? Yes, it does. It persists in a despicable group of people known as the Staff Members. I like to think of myself as a good friend of theirs, or at least on their good side, and why is that? because I am not a part of the minority they hate so much, people who have been banned.
"well SSSoupy that sounds like bull****, after all, they are players who are breaking the rules, are staff not supposed to ban them?" I hear you say, and while that may seem like a compelling argument, allow me to explain what I mean. I am not mad at the staff for enforcing the rules, instead, I am mad at them for unfairly and selectively enforcing the rules on specific players because of the staff members bias. For example, take Hqckey, a player who 1) owned a practice server, 2) teamed with hackers, 3) hacked, 4) ban evaded multiple times after being banned for hacking and abusing glitches. And yet... he was unbanned by the staff. Now, look at Martijn103, a player who 1) owned a practice server, and 2) ban evaded after being banned for owning a practice server. However, Martijn has yet to be unbanned by the staff despite being 10x better than Hqckey. Multiple staff members have already stated that Martijn is unlikely to ever be unbanned. Why is that the case, Staff members?
Instead of being biased little ****s I recommend that you equally enforce your rules to all the players, and disregard how you (personally) feel about a player. Might I suggest putting the most notorious ban evaders on a sort of probationary period, say 6 months with no ban evading of any kind, and unban them if they successfully comply. After all, banning players is supposed to teach them a lesson and encourage them to change, which most of them would jump at the opportunity to prove just how much they've matured and changed for the better. Instead they are ignored and cast aside, forcing them to ban evade on the server they love so much causing their chances of getting unbanned to fall lower and lower. Its a viscous cycle, but the kicker? Most ban evaders, such as Hexings and Haise, only started ban evading and hacking after being falsely banned by corrupt staff on a power trip. In my honest opinion, the staff team needs a total rework, and the server bans should be reset, allowing the reformed OGs to start anew.
