It might just be me, but i have a very difficult time finding a staff member when I need to. I know that this is partly due to multiple servers with a smaller staff team. I understand that staff members have lives and cant spend all day playing HavocMC. However, I do believe that they can all do a better job spreading themselves out and creating bonds with the community. What i mean by this is if there are few staff members on the network, then two staff members should not be on the same server at a time. There are 13 servers on HavocMC and most of the time, there are <13 Staff members on. So it seems unproductive to have 2 staff members on the same server where there are none on some other servers.
Also, when it comes to teamspeak, I feel that staff has separated themselves from their community way too much. The players who get on teamspeak are those who want to talk, chill, play, and make new friends. I spend most of my time in teamspeak because I like speaking to people rather than typing. However, Staff are in their offices about 90% of the time and no one can see into these offices. This has caused a huge divide between the staff and the community on teamspeak. I understand that some conversations should only be heard by staff members, but i doubt that they are always having these conversations.
You can make some great friendships with people on teamspeak and it feels like that the staff thinks they are "too good for us" when they seclude themselves from us and essentially "hide" from us.
This also raises a problem when a players needs to get in touch with a staff member. The fact that we cant see into the staff channels makes it very difficult to ask staff for help and get a response in a timely manor. I know they have a staff help room, but there is no way to know how long it will be for a staff member to notice a player in the staff help room and there is no way to tell if there is even a staff member on so waiting in that room would be pointless.
It has come to the point that staff members get on, and immediately join one of the staff offices without even looking to who is on the community channels. You shouldnt have to be a staff member to become friends with another staff member. But with these Staff offices, it is making it very hard to get to know the staff team. Not only that, but the staff should also want to get to know the players on this server as well as the players who have gone far enough to even know there is a teamspeak.

I completely agree with all of your point, and we will make a change on this. I apologize for the inconveniences you or other players had encountered and it will not happen again. Thanks for your suggestions!
I look forward to getting to know the staff team better!

I don't personally know why staff don't talk, since I usually get a response within the same minute. Idk if its just me pming them when they aren't getting spammed with /msg, or if they actually like me  I think the problem is that there are so many players calling hacks when the person isn't hacking, and staff don't want to deal with a bunch of false accusations. It would probably be annoying, but it is their job to look into hackusations (but this is done through support tickets). What im trying to say is that they dont want to be spammed, but people are always spamming. They use TS as a way to communicate without being spammed, like a quiet place to relax. They can periodically check the other chat rooms, which would be great, but sometimes people just want quiet. (Im saying this but staff room is probably the loudest TS server in history XD)

i agree with the whole in-game part of what you said. However, the teamspeak community isnt that big and I feel that it is unprofessional and kinda mean to flat out ignore the players in it or use favoritism and move players into the staff rooms. I feel that the staff offices should be strictly for staff purposes. If they want a private conversation, use a player created channel and put a password. this way we actually know which staff are on so it wont feel like they are hiding from us and ignoring us. I do hope that they would just hang in the public channels and get to know their community.

To start with team speaks, I'm in my office for a reason. If someone was banned by me, they will make a fit and get into a scene where they start to argue, yell, and non-stop complain as well as throwing unnecessary insults at me daily; this has happened many times. If I need to speak with staff regarding issues involving players or servers, we would like to contain that confidentiality. I will also mention that I enjoy using team speak and having my private channel so people won't poke spam me and other things when I am busy with work, hence why I am in a private channel where I wish not players trying to join, ask me numerous poke questions that are irrelevant to the servers, trollers, and angry players who are trying to have a flip show before appealing and not calming themselves, yelling at someone who is/was doing his/her job. In terms of activity in game, if I am trying to watch a hacker, and players keep calling my name or spamming me, that doesn't work out; common sense necessary to understand that. If people know I'm on when I am busy, they will call my name, ask me numerous questions when I am trying to deal with something and issue punishments via forum reports. I enjoy conversation with players so occasionally I will pop out of vanish in my free time and have a small conversation, though with all due respect, some staff aren't extroverts. When I see multiple staff on a specific server, I ask them to switch in case those in need are left on other servers with no staff to help them. We don't think we are "better" but most of us just need to talk privately and don't have the time to conversate with players or we are more focused on other subjects that needs attending to.

Well when you are in your channel to "escape the salty kids" you are also ignoring the other 90% of the community. I understand that getting poked and messaged a lot can be annoying. but personally, I dont think that you should see the whole community in that light. We arent all like that and as a Sr Mod, you should have moderating powers on teamspeak. This includes muting, kicking, and even banning. If a player gets banned and gets on ts to make a scene, just ban him on ts. being banned on havoc should go hand in hand with teamspeak imo. I just feel that painting the whole community as spammers and maniacs isnt right.

That comes with being staff...and not to be rude but if you are shy and don't want to talk to players then just say it.. don't try and make up excuses to not talk to us. Don't get me wrong, staff get **** on a daily basis but that's part of being staff and need to control their emotions and handle situations professionally (I'm not saying you arent, just making a long point). Anyways, I get staff have confidential stuff to talk about however I doubt you guys talk about confidential things all the time, it's like what bee said, it sends a subconscious message to the room that you're (players in this case) not important. Staff need to be more open-minded and look at both perspectives

and please dont take this as directed at you Kat. this was to the whole staff team and mainly to the helpers/Jr Mods. I know that you are very busy as a Sr Mod and you need time to work. but a few tours around the public channels in your downtime would be nice, not only to you, but to the players. it would help them feel more welcome to the network if a high staff member came to their channel just to talk

    Thanks.
I have extreme personal issues and I don't prefer to use Skype as the quality is bad, in case you're wondering what other things I speak to my staff friends about aside from server issues. If I am physically incapable of controlling my emotions and I go to staff for advice and tips, I wouldn't do that to random players. I understand as staff we deal with players who act immature, although I get sick of that over time and it comes to be quite annoying, so I don't associate as much with players anymore. I like saying things nicely, but when I try that, I can never fully get the point across. I'm not the kind of person who is interested in meeting new people on the daily and making numerous acquaintances as I'm not exactly that kind of a person. I find it's nice to pop in with other players every now and then to touch bases and just see how they are and if there is anything I can do to help them. I won't get into my personal issues as it has nothing to do with being a staff member and talking to people, though in a way it can when it gets to a severe point. I'm the kind of person to always see both perspectives, offering anyone to message me privately either on the forums or in game, etc. I am openminded and when people have complaints, I will look into it if they display a reasonable complaint respectfully and them offering a solution is appreciated if they have it, or one day we can just sit down and brainstorm how things can work out to solve the issue. I can go further but I am not going to as I'm not sure it will make much sense at this point.

    Yours Respectfully,

I would like to put my thoughts into this quickly. I know how and why players think that we are always hidden but there is also a reason besides being asked questions all the time and getting toxic people in to get angry at us. As for me I mainly join ts to get away from everything for an hour or even more while I am not moderating to just talk with other staff/friends about real life and relax. Most of our staff team are always waiting for someone to join the "Staff Help Room" so we can help you as the players with your issues. I enjoy talking to the players a lot and would not consider giving it up. Also I don't know about the other staff members but I do not see a difference between staff and players. We are all humans and make mistakes.

Hope to talk to you all soon and that you do not take this the wrong way,

I agree with most of the above comments from both staff and players, but I would like to put my own perspective on it just to put another point of view out there. c:

I am personally an introvert and this makes it incredibly hard for me to even join a TeamSpeak channel. I've probably joined TS less than 10 times in my entire life and even then, I don't usually talk while I'm in them - I simply listen. It's just very difficult for me to do and even the idea of joining a channel to talk to people I don't know without even being invited makes me very uncomfortable. This is caused by my different personality, but it doesn't mean I don't care about or don't want to get to know the community. It's the absolute opposite. I love most of the players on here and I always strive to do my best and keep you guys happy. If anyone has a problem (regardless if it's server related or not) they can always come to me.

There are a few reasons we may not reply to players. It may be that we're busy, or maybe chat was going too fast, or maybe we just don't want to risk getting spammed. It can just be difficult to reply to everyone at times. For example, whenever I say something in global I my chat gets flooded with messages and it can be hard to reply to them all. Please don't take it personally. While what I've stated is true, I can regretfully admit that in the past few months I've interacted with the community less due to the fact that when I do, I usually get at least one impolite message. Obviously, some players get upset when they're punished and this can cause a lot of conflict (check my profile for examples) which makes me a bit more weary of talking to people, but I don't automatically assume that all of the players are like that. I know that most of you guys are lovely people. I do apologize if it doesn't come across that way.

Just going to add in quickly that we try to avoid grouping up on servers and usually spread ourselves out, but we're not perfect and we fail/forget to do this sometimes. We'll definitely try to work on this but a lot of the above has to do with personality and it's not exactly right to force someone into doing something they're uncomfortable with. I appreciate your respectful post addressing these issues but I hope you understand. c:

Well, some staff members are rarely on, while others are on, like, 5 days a week. This is a huge gap and rarely being on starts at being a new helper (Usually one no one's even seen on the server.) than decreases when/if they are promoted. When/if people are promoted to Sr. Mod it seems like they are online the most. (HellomanMC and Katitude are pretty active.) than increases from there. The more active helpers like EmiliaWu and The7thCpt are the ones who still aren't promoted. (Who has actually seen more than 3 of the Jr. Mods online in the last month?) I am not one to assume people's activity, but some of these nobody's turn into helpers and do little to nothing imo. (Legendary_Revo and Saint_Ash, I'm looking at you.) I have no business in the staff's reasons to hire new staff, but some of these people are never on. I don't care what they said on their app. they are no use to the server when they are never on. Just sayin'. Also, if I could use some shameless promotion, I would be online all of the time if I was helper, as I am now and would help a ton of people, as I do now. :)
Yeah ive noticed about half of thee staff members are inactive (or they are playing on different timezone, but ive been on havoc 10-13 hours each day over the last few days, so I think I would see them) I can look at the staff page, and in the helper category, half of them are randoms that nobody in-game has met (kinda like that one guy whose on the DEV team, hes labeled as developer but nobody (not even the mods) have seen this guy.

Quite frankly, I've seen Saint_Ash and Revo on a lot helping out in chat. Just because some players don't help in YOUR timezone, does not mean that they don't help at ALL. Most staff do have real life responsibilities and cannot stay on the server the whole time. Ever since I was a helper, I strived to be on the most and help the most, but it's not about activity, it's about how well you do your job. Promotions are given to staff who higher staff think have matured more over their time as a Helper and would fit being a Jr Mod. You say after promotions, activity goes down, that is false. Take myself for an example. I've had a consistent amount of activity within being Helper and in my position of Jr Mod at this time. Also, with your "shameless self promotion", if you think you'd do good as a staff member, go ahead and apply. We're not stopping you. It's up to Higher staff to decide whether you're fit for it, and every person they have chosen, they have been correct. I have seen nothing but amazing effort from all staff members and love working with them on this server.

Alright Mr_Potatoes. Completely disrespectful to be pointing out who you believe (In YOUR opinion.) Is active and who is not. But each one of the staff members have different roles to play. Such as; if one isn't moderating but are afk in hub, they'd probably be working on the appeals of players. Which majority have us have sent at least one in. Also, Saint_Ash I see on very frequently, but he's probably not in your time zone. So please take into consideration that all people aren't from America on the staff team. Have a nice day. (Please note, by doing this you appear to be attempting to slander the staff team, which due to how hard they work. Is pretty disrespectful.)
