Tmd is back! old ranks returned to the shop. The shop is reverted to normal. But thats only half of it.

the server has done what it needed to in order to return to what it was- at the start. I was not there when pains were introduced. However that moment was both the best and worst thing that happened to the server. It revolutionized pvp on the server but in that moment forgot what the server is at the core of it all. it is the walking dead. fight the dead fear the living. that was the motto of TWD in the early days of the show.

That was when the server became gun pvp instead of walking dead at the core. New players driven off after being discouraged by being killed repetitively by seemingly unkillable foes. now was not a huge problem until recent months.... player count dropping. what happened?

now this is just my opinion, but if im wrong tell me what did it- prove me wrong. or better yet, wait and see. this update will test my theory.

making the server what it used to be (at the heart of walking dead) - a constant struggle to survive. pain spam is finished. poof. gone. accept it. if you were here for pain reliant pvp, now you are on the wrong server. Any player can now join and take anyone else down provided they have the skill.

It only takes one second- one second and its over - rick grimes TWD season 5

In relation to people criticizing the owners for their albeit unconventional methods- consider this.

    1) In one fell swoop they have tried to appease the pvp community by releasing classic.

    2) They have put the server as a whole in a much more welcoming position for new players. The realism element ensures less new players will quit due to being gunned down.

    3) They have resorted to defying microsoft to keep the server active and running normally- thats ballsy.

They obviously care about the future of havoc and have gone to extraordinary measures to set a clear path for the future of havoc. After mining dead is stabalized, they can turn their attention to mine wars- another long awaited update

so to all those that say the server is dead 1) ur a hypocrite if you are reading this and 2) what is dead may never die, but rises again harder and stronger (thats a game of thrones quote btw)

I've been coming and going from a lot of guns survival apocalypse servers, many of them have awesome stuff that would be sick if implemented in Tmd. Others are so owners-centered that I have never seen more than 15 ppl online during weekends. The only thing that drifts away is its base: none of them really care for a solid community. At max they'll run up a discord channel for in-game doubts or some forums filled with bug reports and complaints. Here is different - we've got ppl who enjoy the theme, or the show, both, pretending rp, pvp, struggle etc. Minding those ppl is the right move imho. It's a long way to please everyone else but I don't believe they've been letting people down - just lurk around (here or in-game) to see those who thrash talk the server - typical pay 2 win players, threatened to lose their their stuff to new (but better at non-spamming) players.
I'll be around for quite some time so it'll be a interesting journey :)

I sort of view it more as sad that they pressured people into buying ranks by saying they would never be available again, but within a few days decided that they weren't making enough money, so completely undid it. There's dozens of servers out there that make enough to run the server without being stupidly pay to win. Why can't Havoc do the same?

Ok, at this point, the server is going to be murdered. Whether it be by internal affairs or getting sued or some **** like that. Why do we keep screwing ourselves over? .-.

Look we understand that this wasn't exactly ideal, but we had to do it because of certain reasons.
This is a sentence from the forum that was posted last night- if we continued to follow the Minecraft EULA the server would not make anywhere close to enough to cover expenses and would be forced to shutdown.
We care about this server greatly and are willing to take chances to keep it open for all of you and new players yet to come. So please don't not start shooting down the owners and staff about this. Everything we do is for you guys.

    I might agree with you

But considering the eula-friendly ranks weren't even finished before a certain group of people decided they weren't getting enough money, nah.

Its not exactly fair for you to be judging us either. You don't know the kind of work that the staff and especially the owners have put into this server. The owners have to make hard decisions like reverting back to the Pre EULA tmd to keep the server open.

I didn't think I said anything about the staff team, or the work that's put into the server. Since it looks like you missed the main point of what I said, I'll say it again.

Tbh it was never really about the walking dead to me. The "core" is not the walking dead anymore they have branched out now we have star wars and building (hopefully it comes back) I see classic turning more into a gangster/gun server (its already in atlanta). The people who want and really care about the walking dead have tmd and the other group the people who like the pvo and all that have their own gamemode as well. Personally I want it to become a gangster/gun server because I will personally enjoy that more. idk on how many in the pvp boat agree with me but thats just how I feel about it.

Look, Craven may not, but I do. As much as Craven and I have had "beef" in the past, HE IS RIGHT. They were not even done finishing the ranks that they have been planning for months, if not a year, and then reverted back within a week. WHAT? that doesn't make sense. You would think with all the time they had, in between first finding out about becoming EULA compliant, and removing the old ranks that they would have already made plans to make enough money. Essentially, they did no planning at all, and found out AFTER their update that they were not making enough money. I find that very hard to believe though, very hard. What "hard" decision did the owners make reverting back to Pre-EULA? They knew from the start how much money they had to bring in from the start. How would it be a hard decision if they have not even had in place for a week? Also - Craven at no point started "hating" on the staff. This is a mistake I made in the past, assuming he was. Lastly, the work you do and 95% of the staff team do is appreciated, but not even remotely related to this post. I'm not exactly sure why you felt the need to post that, but it's useless. Just my two-cents.

I believe this is another one of those things where people continue to get not exactly what they wanted and something half of what they want back and some half-assed rushed update...Let's all be honest here, this update still has tons of bugs and needed fixes, and the people still didn't get what they really wanted. I believe people have been also very specific on what they wanted the server to move towards...
Now before I get some junior helper wannabe or staff member telling me that: "Hey, we worked our asses off to appease this whiny playerbase, stop complaining and attacking us." Or even: "You don't know ****, we are fixing it right now." I really believe why some of the reasons why the playerbase complains are somewhat valid(to a point). We continue to get rushed updates which are not completely functionable/fixed which are tested by staff and the ideas and suggestions placed down which are taken into consideration, seem to always be off on what people really wanted or were suggesting.
Now I'm not trying to infer that changing people's ideas are wrong, I'm trying to say that your team really needs to set things up and really have a serious conversation with "certain" people(not always staff) in the community on what they feel that need to be changed for this server for the better of this server and the future.
    We really need actual compromise.

    I agree with Peach (what?)

And from a player's point of view- this update and "oh sht never mind" was poorly planned and poorly executed. If updates were tested and had less bugs then people would stay and....donate? I know a Harry Potter server that makes thousands a month with the same amount of players as Havoc (well, before the epic decline). If they can do it, why not you? They invest in developers and test things before they are released. Updates shouldn't BREAK a server. Yet every update is flawed with game-breaking bugs. If Havoc wants money, then test things first. Quit rushing. And invest in people who know what they are doing. No one is believing that Havoc is broke. Look at all the mythicals. Hard to believe the server would just run out of money in the near future. People stay and play on quality servers that run well and fix bugs quickly. No one wants to play on a broken server.
