I agree. I don't know when you started playing but the "good old days of tmd" consisted of:
    -no jugg
-only like 10 people had infinite money (which was a great way to raise money for the server to get bigger, but is now a pretty big problem)
-painkillers were tough to come by, so we're tier 4 and 3 guns
-and I don't remember exactly how the walkers were.

I personally think the main thing thats ruined the server is jugg. Before jugg, when riot was the best armor, it was a lot harder to stay alive. During wars, it was all about skill and stealth, whoever could outsmart the other. Nowadays there's no skill involved at all, full juggs running around in their teams of 6 with golden everything, katana, spaz, and their 8 stacks of pains on hand, They never have to worry about stealth because no matter what, their armor+ pains will outlast anything. Today you win wars by either A.Having more people than the other team or B. Having longer jugg durability/pains.

Probably my favorite thing about riot gear is you don't have to be in riot gear to kill another riot. I've killed plenty of full riots with only a winchester and a combat knife (aka kit hunter). It's all about stealth and timing. I've tried doing the same to full juggs and no matter what, it's impossible. Doesn't matter how stealthy I am or how many hits I get on em first, his armor gives him enough time to locate me and one-shot me. Every time.

Now I realize I've been typing for like 10 minutes now jesus christ chill vc. So I'm gonna wrap this up, but I've been thinking about this idea for months to make TMD great again.
    -Remove jugg
(Or if thats too far, do a reset and make it EXTREMELY rare)
-Remove all tier 4 guns, painkillers, and riot gear from the shops(this would make unlimited money not as OP)
-^That would also make the market for survivors a lot bigger because the value of those items would increase, so more people would go out looting for them, or buy crates as well.
-If jugg was completely removed, we'd have to find a way to compensate for all the pieces some people have been collecting for the past year. I'd say maybe make each piece tradeable for like 30k ingame cash? Idk something like that.

That's my idea, but It will only happen if enough people want it to. And I doubt the majority of the server would want to remove their precious jugg. Jugg gear was added in July of 2015 a year ago. And over the past year is when this server grew exponentially. More than half of the server have no idea what it was like before jugg. So all the thousands of noobs that have joined in the past year have became complete worshippers of jugg gear. Spending all their time in safe zones searching for some jugg to buy, or spamming MangledFury asking if he'll give some jugg. Last time the idea of a reset was mentioned everyone just about lost their minds. If this idea was going to happen the world might combust into flames for all those jugg worshippers.

That's why I don't think we can make TMD great again. Majority vote has been how the server makes big decisions like this. And I don't think the majority of the people would like this idea. Sadly. Theyd rather spend their days not having to face a challenge at all. Endlessly searching for more jugg. All I can do in my power is make the greatest TWD builds you've ever seen, and you guys just wait, the build team's got some crazy stuff coming. But yeah that's my take on stuff and things.

I agree with everything you've said here. And, unlike most people who play the server, I know what it was like before jugg, and before 3d textures (a few eyars ago). Weapons, armor, food, ammo, and everything was MUCH rarer, and chests to loot were much less frequent. There were no compasses to guide you, and walkers, while varying in frequency from place to place, were still a much larger threat, even more than people. Your best bet was to team up with anyone you saw for survival instead of KIAing like most people do now. It was also (likely due to less people on server, but still more realistic) more difficult to find other people. Nowadays, you can find someone in every few buildings. Back then, you were lucky if you found someone in a city. I wish they would change it, although i doubt they will since most people value their precious jugg , golden weapons, and ability to do basically whatever you want when it realistically wouldn't happen.

I just got infinite about a week ago and I will be rather annoyed if it is removed.

However I do like the idea of adding in a hardcore server sort of like how there are both pvp and non-pvp servers.

I feel lots of players will get annoyed by this. Before the big update, there was a hardcore game mode. This was separate from regular Mining Dead. I think we should do that again. Keep what we have now, and just add the new Hardcore game mode. My personal opinion: I do get bored of having already right in front of me, but at the same time it is fun to have that because other people have the same supplies, meaning more challengers, etc, etc. Hardcore will be fun, and I will for sure be playing it, but I do not think as much as regular Mining Dead.

The playercount for TMD's Hardcore server was around 10-15 players most of the day. I don't think that's enough to warrant reintroducing the gamemode unless there are some changes that attract more people. Even Banner Wars averages more players.
We are planning on making a more authentic TMD after Mine Wars. It will be similar to Hardcore, but have some changes.

    Sounds great!

That's why if we remove all tier 4 weapons from the shop including riot gear and pain killers it'd make infinite money much less OP. It'd also make those items more valuable which expands the market for people to sell stuff. A lot of people say "selling barret at berx, msg me" but no one's interested. Now if you remove it from the shop, everyone will be interested, especially all the rich immortals of the server. That would work with any thing that gets removed from the shop. A lot of survivors complain about how hard it is to get money. Well here ya go. Make the market bigger and bam. Imagine all the painkiller vendors that would pop up, as well as barrets, spaz, m60's, etc...
Just make too many painkillers dangerous, and just remove tier 4 from shop and make it rare ig.

I know about those players, but I'm just saying that if you do remove Jugg, there's probably going to be a decrease in people playing TMD. With a separate server, you can keep a lot of players from being mad that something is either removed or not implemented.
I guess you are a jugg hoarder?

They should make TMD so much more realistic. For starters they should make the Tier 3 and 4 guns and riot armor a lot rarer to come across as it is extremely over saturated and should make Jugg and the Legend guns extremely rare. Although I wouldn't want to restart the server. Just adjust the rarity then get it down to the right saturation level and there you have it. The main reason behind this is that I feel nothing is rare anymore and that the selling and buying market just isn't working because everyone already has what your selling. Most the stuff in the stores are useless to people, the only things people really buy is antibiotics. I really think they should change this. On top of this there are many other things that people have said in this thread that I think should be implemented as well.

Nah, I honestly don't care much for Jugg, I just have some boots and leggings lying around in my ender chest XD

I just don't want the server to lose too many people due to either finding out that their stuff is missing or players getting sick of others complaining in global chat that all their Jugg armor is gone.

I think there shouldn't be gun tiers but instead some guns have more of an edge in certain aspects. Such as a sniper one of them is let's say semi auto while the other is bolt. The semi auto should shoot faster while the bolt sniper does more damage. This is what I mean by certain stats of guns give them an edge in one aspect and a drawback in another. Ammo should be a bit rarer except in military bases. Leather armour should provide a bit of bite protection. Pains need to be a lot rarer. A few thing to add fro better gameplay is bullet proof vests, and can hold items. And wearable backpacks, pouches, and duffle with a certain keyboard key to open it with holding it.

I think most weapons and armour shouldn't be purchase able because some people might be ok with tier 3 weapons so maybe only sell tier 2 and below for weapons.

I LOVE the idea of removing Jugg, except it doesn't have to be on the regular servers. I think the Hardcore server being brought back would solve a lot of issues with Infinite Money holders, pain killers, Jugg, and tons of op weapons. That way there doesn't have to be a reset. "Jugg Worshipers" would not be overwhelmed with grief that all their Jugg armor and pain killers would have just disappeared (lol), and players who want a harder, more TWD like survival experience will get that.

If I'm correct, you guys are adding a quest system in Mine Wars. I was discussing this topic with Styxx_, and I think that if a quest system was added to TMD, this would make players work a lot more closely together to accomplish quests. Instead of the main characters from the comic/show being emotionless NPC vendors, they could be approached by players for quests, with each character having their own personality expressed through dialogue. There would be much more interaction within the community, as well as more of a relationship with the characters. It would also give the TMD servers something new to do, instead of just kill, loot, repeat.

Anyway, that's just what I thought. I really like all the ideas, but I just wanted to put in my own. Thanks for putting in the time to read my suggestions, if you did. XD
Thats still a cool fox :p

I've gathered a bit of jugg over the time I have been on this server, and I am always afraid to lose it because then someone has MY jugg and I have less than I did before, but if everyone lost their jugg, I would be ok with it :p I think it would be kinda cool to restart it, sometimes I get a group of people and we start somewhere, like Hershel's, and we have like one life and we aren't on the same team. This way we have little resources, we can try and betray each other, and we explore the map as if we were making our own story. It's a lot of fun.

I miss the hardcore server, but i also remember less than 10 ppl on at a time.
