I am going to hate myself in the morning, but... Ok LeeEverett, What do you consider a fair reset?
Compensation of voting crates that's actually fair. Starting off with ten vote crates and a godly without the need to vote, 5 crates a vote for the first week, then three crates a vote for the next two weeks, then two crates for the week and a month after, definitely. That gives us a chance to get some additional good loot.

I think the achievements idea is a very good one. Nick's right there. It feels alot less like you're losing a thousand voting crates' worth of loot.

I know a few people whose web browser blocks the vote sites because they are :Unknown websites", which would give them an unfair disadvantage since they can't vote. I like the idea of increasing crates per vote, but maybe only do double crates for the next 2 months, and give everyone
    10 rare crates
    5 godly crates
    1 legend crate
    $10k
That way, people have an opportunity to get loot from the crates (along with any vote crates) and won't spawn in the new map as poor lonely people

I don't think you guys are looking into the after effects of getting tons of crates to start off with. Sure, it's nice to see your inventory filled up with something, but getting all these crates right from the get-go would just cause another inflation, at least for the first few weeks. After that, once people start dying with their stuff, there's gonna be more rage and upset people. If everyone started off with almost nothing but a couple hundred bucks, then people would be forced to have to explore the map for the best possible looting spots. Before I had the Hardcore rank (which was about half my time here so far), I learned that Hartsfield was the best place to be. There were plenty of weapons to be found in the spread out loot chests, and if I needed food or water, I could just walk across the field to Del Arno.

I like to think of it this way:

"Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime."

Everyone will start with almost the same type of weapons and armor from those crates, so there really wouldn't be too much of a point of a reset if everyone received that kind of "compensation". If people learn to utilize certain areas in the map, there won't be a need for a bunch of crates that would likely cause an inflation.

I have a suggestion that might be cool, tell me what you think. Only headshots are able to kill zombies, and body shots do very little or no damage. This would be a cool and realistic addition.
Maybe make a chance to miss on a headshot, or not do as much damage? Right now, it seems too easy to mow down a horde of 60 with a machine gun or just spam the attack button aiming at their heads with a decent melee weapon. I like the idea though. ;)

"Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime. Always eat fish, and you will surely search for more variety" People may like having those legends/money, but that wont be enough gear to sustain a healthy playstyle. Unless you hoard it all, you will die with it. Lets assume each crate gave one legendary item. That is 16 items. That could be:
    16 legend guns
1 full jugg set, 12 legend guns
2 full sets, 8 legend guns
    3 full sets, 4 legends
    4 full jugg sets.
Now consider the rarity of chestplates and boots, since Immortals have these items in kits (They can farm both of these 7 times a day). That decreases the amount of useful items that are hard to find, making helmets and pants worth more. Assuming a group of , lets say 5, immortals decide to spend a week farming these jugg pieces.
*Farming jugg using /kit Heavy once per day on all 7 tmd server
    *7 days a week
    *5 immortals
7x7=49 of both jugg parts per week for 1 person
49x5=245 of each jugg piece assuming all the immortals farmed on every server for the entire week. Thats alot of jugg!
Now think back to how jugg helmets and pants are Not in any kits. That raises their value. Assuming any player who was given/took the boots and chestplate wanted to complete a full set of jugg. Wait, nobody has any money! Server just reset! For people with infinite money, this will not be a problem! Instead of paying cash, they could trade goods from the shops. Trading goods= more loot circulating through the player base. More loot=quicker gathering of loot for older players who know how this works. More loot=higher target. Eventually, those loot hoarders get better loot. They run out of space to hold items, so they begin doing things like dropping bad items at safezones. New players will get that bad loot, and will search to level up their arsenal. When they level up, they drop their old gear to the newer newer players.
Point: Gearwise, everyone will be in a giant food-chain like system where the bad loot drops to the bottom, and the bottom players seek to level up. This creates competition, and for those higher on the food chain, there are more people working together to steal their loot. By doing this, naturally some of the jugg will be destroyed/wiped by ground item removal.
Weapons will follow a similar system, but slightly different. Since legend weapons (mainly the gold weapons) can be found in immortal kits, they follow the same system of jugg (different math) I won't go into details, but since more than one Immortal kit has a legend gun, they could potentially be farming more guns than jugg! As these legend weapons increase in stock, the tier 4 weapons (other than spas of course) will slowly fall down the chain.

Whats the point of this rant? In the end, regardless of how many crates we give anyone, the top players will still get the legend stuff, and everyone else will not. Immortals with infinite money become the 1% of the top players. regular Immortals and maybe gods will become the upper class, ultra, and players with infinite money become the middle (since they can still trade shop items for loot), and Elite, Vip, and non-ranked players without infinite become the lower class. There are always people who don't follow this, but majority are around this area. So, by making everyone have more crates, there is a higher possibility that middle/lower class can have a fighting chance on the new server. I support you guys!

This could be fixed if Immortal kits didn't contain so much op stuff. Im gathering more info to help make this post better.
edit: @Tactical_Fox48 even if we did not give anyone crates, montly rank bonuses would emphasis the point that ranked players will level up faster than middle/lower class (ultras have an ok shot)

I completely agree with this. Unfortunately, like Infinite Money, I think OP kits were an irreversible addition that didn't have enough forethought put in about how big the server would become. If they were to nerf the kits, many Gods and Immortals would feel like they had been ripped off, no matter how much "compensation" you gave them. I was suggesting that people would have more of a purpose or reason to do more activities on the regular servers. If they died without much to start off, they would recover much quicker then if they had been carrying around whole arsenals of rare armor/weapons.

Basically, it'd be more devastating to start off with so much to lose it all again quickly, rather than building yourself up and being acclimated to dying to reach that point of success. However, I do see your points and understand what many others are going through losing so much hard work and progress.

I'm finding balance between "too much/too little compensation" and making it fun

I am just concerned for my 2 Gatling guns, 2 Firefly Flame throwers, my Golden Baret and Golden Crossbow in my vault. I can just scavage the rest. I'd like to keep my 30K but I can build it back up with voting.

I think 10 rare crates might be a bit much. I think it should be 5 rare crates, 1 legend crate. no godly crates and less rare ones.

I would assume that vote crates would stay, but maybe not. I don't think the admins pay much attention to vote crates since the new update is set for around the end of December. if they are wiped, I'm pretty sure your ranking in the monthly vote contest will stay since that is info sent from other websites to this one
thank you, did not realize you were staff.... :p

I was not asking about the rankings, i was asking about the UNopened vote crates....

We have heard details about the fate of purchased ones.....

I am asking how the "free" vote crates are going to work....
<and they have reset the vote system before, in an update> <around Feb or Mar16> <and they were not resetting EVERYTHING that time :) >
