Hey , Please add Belport back to tmd map ! near a safezone should be very cool , and i think the map realy need a crane
Finely Port needs a return. I miss my yacht ;-;Hey , Please add Belport back to tmd map ! near a safezone should be very cool , and i think the map realy need a crane
Exactly. To remove a ton of melees seems to gunho, and I think they should maybe wait a little and really think about how the players would feel when seeing a ton of melees are just gone. I noticed the terrain too, as much as the cities are amazing, I try not to leave them (Unless in a car and with a destination in mind) because the in between is just walkers and dirt blocks, maybe an occasional tree, that's about it.Thoughts from an RPer's Perspective:
So I first wanna say that I know that a very small minority of the community actually participates in some sort of role-playing; so I agree that the game shouldn't be tailored towards their needs, but rather the majority which is the "PVPers(?)", basically the TMD-1 players... However, this is THE MINING DEAD we're talking about!!! It's a Minecraft server spin off of the television show THE WALKING DEAD. There's so much potential that I see in the server to be perfect towards actually replicating the universe that we all know and love. And, so much of it is sacrificed for a more basic "Minecraft zombie apocalypse server". The last update was a step in the right direction imo, but removing 5-15 melee weapons!?!? That's insane!! The glory of the Mining Dead is through its massive and diverse world via the resource pack and you're willing to throw it away for "less lag" are you actually kidding me... As far as the new map v. 2 goes, I have no problem with areas implemented that aren't on the tv show. I just have a few recommendations for any builders who might read this:
1. Get the Terrain right. If you've watched the tv show you'd know that a lot of the series actually takes place in dense southern forest, not vast plains which is what you have currently in the new map v. 1, and it's boring as F**k running across randomly generated plains by World Edit. Yes, I notice it and it's lazy on your end. There should be rivers, lakes, lots of custom trees (like what you have in Plyant right now), grass and flowers! Re-watch some tv show episodes and you'll get it.
2. Prepare for Washington D.C. So, Atlanta and D.C are the two major cities in the Walking Dead universe. I'm sure that you're most likely going to have to build D.C one day (maybe that's what the "more content coming soon was on the online map??) so while your making this new map, perhaps leave space for it and get the location right with Atlanta being at the southern part of the map and D.C being at the northern part.
3. Extras. Cloud height is screwed up, it's way too close. Also, you should strive to build in the world itself. Not copy and paste with world edit, that's also something I notice . I agree smaller is better for less travel times, but the rural areas where you are travelling on roads: make something out of it. The map now feels so segregated in it's treasures, in that, there's just no point to leave cities. Make the wilderness as fun as the cities to explore!!

We will no longer be needing to remove any melees whatsoever, they will all stay.but removing 5-15 melee weapons!?!? That's insane!!
Will gun camos still be removed? And will guns no longer be 3d with the same level of texture as they do now?We will no longer be needing to remove any melees whatsoever, they will all stay.
Just about every problem you stated is being fixed with this new map. It may be smaller but it's somewhat of a compromise for the people who hate the size (majority) and the people who like the realism. We favored the people who liked the realism with the last update and it didn't turn out well. I think this is a perfect compromise, just wait till ya see it, it's absolutely perfect. We'll be working on it this next few weeks. Hopefully should be good to go within a couple weeks to a month.Thoughts from an RPer's Perspective:

The textures will at a minimum be the same they are now, just without camos, although we are still looking into potential ways to keep the camos for 1.9+ users. Will have more on whether or not that works out later. Will gun camos still be removed? And will guns no longer be 3d with the same level of texture as they do now?
I'm not sure what you're asking here, could you please rephrase your question? Will all of the jugg like on tmd and tmdop all be on 1 server, like before the rest?
- We will be looking into a way to allow transfer of backpacks / duffle bags off of TMD 5, 6, and 7. It will most likely turn out somewhat like your suggestion.Questions:
Asked already but not answered: what of duffles on to be closed servers
suggestion create a 4th type of vault space that can move duffles, backpacks, and pouches <i am sure someone is using pouches> so that stuff can be transported to the others....<make it one way, ie: 1,2,3,etc cant put stuff in them, only take out, only the closing servers can add>...and temporary....say a week before to a week after the changes>
will ovens work again
since going back to 1.8 will deal with the glitchy horses on 1.9+multiplayer servers, will horses return
why change any of the builds...including Atlanta <it is suppose to be huge, sorry pvpe'ers> if anything add more to it......
compress towns closer together sure.....but why change any them....
wiil we be keeping the loot bags, or going back to chests
bikes are fixed on op tmdto fix the travel issue, they should either make car shells a findable item (because spawners are broken, adding a new item shouldn't be than hard, right?) even if it doesn't work at first, just having the item there to show something is being done about the car issue would be cool
Cars can now be found in loot bags, so its all goodbikes are fixed on op tmd
Melees will not be removed, Ignitingice said soI love this new idea. Just one thing: Why do you have to remove the melee weapons? could you not just simply use any random weapon and give a few buffs on it?
i love this! also its 5 days till I'm unbannedHello everyone. I'm making this post to let everybody know that we are now hard at work on bring TMD back to its best days. It may take around a month, but the end result will be worth it. Changes are as follows.
Reorganized Map
The builders are making a reorganized map that is 6,000 x 6,000 blocks, similar to the old one. This should cut down travel times and allow us to have more zombies and players, so there will be more action. The map will use mostly the same builds as the old map.
Atlanta - The builders will be making a lot of changes to Atlanta. Firstly, it will be a lot smaller. Although awesome, the current Atlanta lacks a center of attention and conflict. We will also be removing a lot of the massive skyscrapers and scaling them down so they are similar to the previous map.
Old Locations - We are also adding back some revamped classic locations. For example, Hartsfield will be back.
We think this new map should allow us to have all the fun gameplay elements of the old map, while keeping the cool builds from the new one.
1.8 Support
Minecraft 1.9 is inherently laggy. Both the server and client run a lot worse than 1.8 did. As a result, we are switching our server version to 1.8. Don't worry, you will still be able to connect with 1.9-1.11. Switching to 1.8 will allow the following changes:
More Players and Zombies
We should be able to reach 150 players on a server, and perhaps we could have some massive Hell Nights. More on this later.
While making these changes we will scale down to four servers, two for PVP and two for PVE. We are still deciding on weather we are having an OP server separate, or having it as one of the PVP servers.
Also, if it wasn't clear earlier, no reset would occur.
What is everybody's opinion on this?
*Update: No melees would need to be removed.*
Also, congratz to Peach on Sr Mod.

sadness. If camos are removed, what will people that bought them get in return?
I feel a lot better about this update but im still not happy with some of the things, For instance I would love Atlanta to be left alone, its more realistic, like the show, areas like prison are mostly used for pvp while Atlanta is more for looting, please make zombies "scary" and bring back hordes!!! It would be bad for old computers and perhaps only put it on 2 of the TMD servers but it would be amazing. Its a shame that features like the tiger and riot shields wont be added, I was very exited for those, Say if for a future update of Minecraft, they made a more stable server thing, Would you possibly upgrade due to the fact that you very well might loose players looking for a TMD server when its 1.15 or something and we are still on 1.8, If these things were to happen, Would the old ideas of having shields, duel wielding and a tiger come back? Personally I like it how it is, Its more realistic and if people want to fight, they say it in chat. There is one thing that would make me extremely happy tho. Fear The Walking Dead Locations. Now I know you were working on a map that got scrapped, But think about it, the current map is 2 states merged into one, Why not add Mexico, cmon we are not Trump himself xD. It would bring people to the coast massively, The hotel will bring some new life into the map along with harts-field, The community's there would be amazing, The Wars there would be fantastic with snipers and melee on the ground, Sorry I rambled on a bit, Please, if you mess with Atlanta, dont mess with the height of the buildings. And for god sake fix the ally and enemy teams system xD. Thanks for reading
